Understanding your options

Knight Watch provides layered, realworld security services designed to uncover vulnerabilities before they become incidents. Don’t rely on assumptions, checklists, or theory alone. We evaluate how security realistically performs.Security Consultation:A security consultation is the foundation. We work directly with property owners, managers, and leadership teams to understand your environment, concerns, and goals. This includes reviewing current security measures, policies, staffing, and operational procedures. Why you need it:
Most security failures begin with misalignment; what you think is happening versus what’s actually happening. Consultation ensures your security strategy fits your property, risks, and budget.
Risk Assessment:A risk assessment identifies and prioritizes threats specific to your location. We evaluate physical vulnerabilities, environmental factors, crime trends, access points, lighting, visibility, and operational risks. Why you need it:
Not all risks are equal. A proper assessment helps you focus resources where they matter most instead of overspending on low impact solutions.
Security Audit:A security audit is a structured evaluation of existing security infrastructure and personnel. This includes guards, patrol patterns, access control, cameras, gates, policies, and compliance. Why you need it:
Having security in place doesn’t mean it’s effective. Audits reveal gaps in coverage, predictability, equipment failures, and procedural weaknesses that often go unnoticed.
Real-World Stress Testing:Stress testing goes beyond observation. With full authorization, we conduct controlled, real world simulations to test how security performs under realistic conditions after hours, during low visibility, or during routine operations. Why you need it:
Security that looks good on paper can fail in practice. Stress testing exposes blind spots, complacency, and predictable patterns the same way a real intruder would, without the consequences of a real incident.
Why Stress Testing Matters Not Just Audits:A security audit shows you what exists.
A stress test shows you what actually works.
Audits review policies, equipment, staffing, and procedures as they are documented and observed. Stress testing evaluates how those same systems perform in real conditions after hours, during low visibility, under routine complacency, or when human behavior deviates from policy.
Most security failures don’t occur because policies don’t exist.
They occur because people, systems, and routines don’t behave the way we assume they will.
Stress testing bridges the gap between theoretical security and operational reality by answering critical questions an audit cannot:
Are guards alert when they’re supposed to be?
Are patrols predictable?
Are cameras positioned for coverage or just compliance?
Are access points secure in practice, not just on paper?
Stopping at an audit tells you whether your security should work.
Stress testing confirms whether it does.

FAQ

What areas do you serve?Knight Watch is based in Knoxville, Tennessee and primarily serves Knoxville and the greater East Tennessee region. That said, security needs don’t always stay within city limits. For the right project, we’re happy to discuss services elsewhere in Tennessee and surrounding areas.
If you’re unsure whether your location is within our service area, just ask.
What types of clients do you work with?Knight Watch works with a wide range of clients, from large commercial properties and corporate offices to small businesses, residential communities, and individual homeowners.
We provide services for:
High-rise buildings and professional offices all the way down to just
Private homeowners who want an honest evaluation of their home’s security
Security concerns look different at every level, but the core question is usually the same: “Is what we have in place actually enough?” Our approach scales to fit the environment. Whether that’s a multi-story building with layered access control or just a single-family home with doorbell cameras and lighting.
If you’re responsible for or concerned about protecting your family, staff, assets, property, or just your peace of mind, you’re likely in the right place.
Is this overkill for a small business or a home? Not at all. In fact, smaller businesses and homes often have the most to gain from an honest security review.
Large properties typically have multiple layers of security by default. Smaller operations and residences rely more on habits, assumptions, and limited systems, which can unintentionally create predictable patterns, dated approaches, or blind spots.
Our goal isn’t to turn your home or business into a fortress. It’s to make sure the precautions you’ve chosen are actually working the way you expect them to. Sometimes that just means confirming you’re doing things right. Other times, it means making small, practical adjustments that significantly reduce risk.
Good security should feel appropriate, not excessive, and it should fit the reality of your space and lifestyle.
Will this disrupt our daily operations or routines? We’re very intentional about minimizing disruption. Most assessments are planned around your schedule, and any after-hours or low-traffic evaluations are discussed and approved in advance.
For stress testing, realism matters, but so does respect for your operations, staff, and residents. We’re not interested in creating chaos to prove a point. The goal is to observe how security functions under normal conditions, not to interfere with them. And, if your security interferes with us doing a stress test; congratulations you have a good team that does exactly what they're designed to do!
In short: you’ll notice the insight we provide, not the disruption it took to get it.
What happens if you find issues? If we identify vulnerabilities or gaps, we walk you through them clearly and practically. We will cover what we saw, why it matters, and what options exist to address it. You'll also get a written report within 72hrs that covers everything we found (or didn't find) and our recommendations to remedy the concern.
Knight Watch does not believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Some clients choose to work with us further, and others already have trusted vendors or internal teams. When the solution falls outside our scope, we’re happy to recommend reputable professionals we’ve worked alongside with, whether that’s access control, lighting, cameras, fencing, or other specialized services.
If staffing or guard coverage is part of the conversation, we can discuss that as well. However, there’s no pressure. Our role is to provide insight first, not to force a particular outcome.
Stress testing sounds interesting, how does that work?Stress testing is a controlled, authorized evaluation designed to show how security performs under normal, real-world conditions.
Most stress tests are conducted after hours or at night, when visibility is lower and routines are more predictable. However, if daytime operations are your primary concern, testing can be scheduled during business hours instead.
Before any testing takes place, leadership, management, homeowners, property management, etc is fully informed and provides written authorization. Teams, homeowners etc should be told that a stress test will occur. However not when, how, or what will be tested. This isn’t about catching anyone off guard; it’s about avoiding artificial behavior that can unintentionally skew results.
When people know exactly what to expect, security often looks better on paper than it does in reality. Stress testing allows us to observe what normally happens, not what happens when everyone is on high alert.
After testing, we review findings with you in detail, explain what worked, what didn’t, and why, and outline practical next steps. The goal is insight, improvement, and not blame.
Is stress testing safe and legal?Yes, absolutely, when done correctly, stress testing is both safe and fully authorized.
Knight Watch conducts stress testing only with prior written approval from property owners or authorized management. The scope, boundaries, and objectives are defined in advance so everyone understands what is and isn’t being evaluated.
Safety is a priority. We do not damage property, interfere with emergency services, or place staff, residents, or the public at risk. Our testing focuses on observation, access, awareness, and routine behavior not confrontation. Anything used for demonstration purposes does not leave your property.
Stress testing isn’t about trickery or entrapment. It’s about responsibly evaluating security under realistic conditions, in a way that protects people, respects the law, and produces meaningful insight.
If a scenario ever falls outside what’s appropriate or authorized, it doesn’t happen. Period.
“My house and property are locked down like Fort Knox can you try anyway?”Haha of course! If you’re curious, that curiosity alone usually means you’re already thinking about security the right way.
Stress testing isn’t about proving someone wrong or playing a gotcha game. It’s about validating confidence. Sometimes that confidence is well-earned and our findings simply confirm that your setup is doing what it should.
Other times, even very well-secured properties have small, unexpected gaps that aren’t obvious until someone looks at them from a different angle. Not because anything is wrong, but because routines, environments, and technology change over time.
If nothing else, many homeowners enjoy knowing their security holds up outside of theory. Think of it less like “breaking in” and more as pressure-testing peace of mind. Remember, we test to appropriate expectations, and safety concerns. We won't treat the stress test for a normal single family home the same way as stress testing The Louvre Museum, ya know haha, unless you want us to!
And if Fort Knox really is Fort Knox? We’re perfectly happy to say so.
What do your consultations, assessments, audits, stress tests, etc cost?Pricing varies based on the size of the property, location, and which services are requested. A single-family home, a small business, and a large commercial or residential property all require very different levels of time, planning, and scope.
Rather than offering flat pricing that may not accurately reflect your needs, we prefer to have a brief conversation first. This allows us to understand your concerns, explain available options, and recommend an approach that makes sense for your situation, without unnecessary services or upselling.
Your best next step is to reach out to schedule a quick phone call or in-person discussion. There’s no obligation, and in many cases, a short conversation is all it takes to determine whether and how, we can help.
